Apus
Two people meet on a moonlit night, each carries a secret. Perhaps a secret shared. An improvised performance and moving image work, performed by Carolyn Eccles and Julian Renlong-Wong. Music performed by the Griffyn Ensemble and composed by Urmas Sisask.
Originally commissioned by composer and artistic director Michael Sollis as part of his 2021 CAPO-funded Southern Sky project, in November 2026 APUS will return to the night sky as part of the SUPERIMPOSITION Festival at the Linden Observatory.
Reconsidered for this remarkable place of astronomical observation, and heritage, the work brings image, movement, landscape and celestial imagination into dialogue, allowing the observatory itself to become an active presence within the unfolding work.
darkroom is the collective practice of Blue-Mountains based artists Carolyn Eccles and Sean O’Keeffe.
